With the fall comes homecoming. The traditional theme of homecoming at Michigan Tech is hobo. The members of all of the organizations and the students of MTU dress up in raggedy clothing that is passed down within the organization or bought at one of the local thrift stores. There are competitions throughout the week, with the biggest competition being the hobo parade. Organizations either march down College Avenue or find/purchase beat-up cars that they spray paint and decorate to suit to parade. The goal is to have the most creative vehicle. While hobo is a great time, we do not participate in any of the above events. We just dress up and cheer those who do participate on. |

The Upper Penninsula
of Michigan is notorious for its long, cold and snow-filled winters. So
what better to do than to celebrate the snow with Winter Carnival! Held
in February, Winter Carnival is a celebration held campus wide. The entire
campus participates in challenges such as sled dog races, ice bowling
and broomball. The contest that really attracts massive amounts of people
to our community is the snow statue contest. Fraternities and Sororites
compete in a month long contest of building snow statues to fit the chosen
theme for the year. While our sorority is to small to build these elaborate
statues we do particpate in many of the other evetns. We also hold an
annual statue walk rush on the all-nighter. |

Our formal, entitled the Black Orchid, is held in the late Spring every year. Formal is a time for the girls of the sorority and their dates to get dressed up and celebrate the wonderful organization that we belong to. |

Greek Week is by far our favorite time of the year. Held during Spring semester, it is the biggest competition of the year for both sororities and fraternities. The competition last the entire week with each organization sponsoring one event. Events range from crest chalk drawing, tug-of-war, volleyball and pool tournaments. On Saturday, all the greeks gather to hold the final competition. It's a day of fun with events such as president's race, boat races, dizzy bats, pyramid, and frisbee toss just to name a few. |
